Our Story
Our foundation began in contracting in 1977, taking on projects for villas and homes that
brought us in tune with the requirements for high quality construction. In 1980, we broke into
the real estate segment with Rose Mathias Chambers in Vasco, designing and constructing
the first six-storey building in the city.
Moving to Panjim in 1983 opened a whole vista of opportunity as we identified properties in
Dona Paula, Old Goa, Porvorim, Fort Aguada and other places that are now considered prime
residential locations in Goa by non-resident Indians and foreign nationals across the world.
Since then, each project has been a baby, nurtured into a personality of its own, offering a
unique home experience to each buyer and finding a prominent place in the map of Goa's
luxury real estate offerings. Our clients are discerning customers with an eye for quality and
an expectation of nothing but the best. We have formed long-lasting relationships with each,
continuing after-sales service even a decade later, and in turn receiving personal
recommendations.

At the helm
Managing director Mr Joe Mathias brings to the company his rich experience across 40 years
in the field. As one of Goa's most senior businessmen in real estate, he has contributed much
to the industry, including the launch of the Goa chapter of CREDAI (Confederation of Real
Estate Developers' Association of India) in 2000. He is currently an executive member of the
GCCI (Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and an active member of CII-Goa
(Confederation of Indian Industry) and the Indian Red Cross Society.
Giving back
Mathias Construction believes that well-being must be shared. As a member of the Rotary
Club of Mid-Town Panaji, Mr Joe Mathias supports education for children in Goa. He is also a
founder trustee of Daddy's Home in Margao, where more than 100 children with mental
challenges are empowered in a safe and secure environment. A trustee of the non-profit
organisation, Mr Mathias is aiding the construction of its home for older people with mental
challenges, a first in India.
